How it all started
In 1996 Ian Booth established Innovative Conveyor Systems (ICS) when the opportunity arose to introduce modular belting systems into the New Zealand food and materials handling industry. The success ICS has experienced has been built on the strong working relationship we share with cheese equipment suppliers worldwide. This led onto other opportunities to not only supply the ICS plastic modular cheese belts, but also some of the cheese making equipment. ICS has been maintaining and supporting many dairy companies with their cheese belting worldwide.
In 2017 Ian saw an opportunity in the Dairy Industry to build cheese machines and associated equipment, and Innovative Dairy Systems was born. Innovative Dairy Systems was approached to design and manufacture a 4.2 t/hr continuous cheddaring machine to supply their newly purchased Mozzarella machine. From that success, Innovative Dairy Systems has grown in leaps and bounds to become well respected within the Cheese Equipment Manufacturing industry.
Since 2017, Innovative Dairy Systems has designed, manufactured, and supplied new CheddarMaster Cheese Belt Machines for clients worldwide including NZ, Australia, South Africa, Europe, USA, China and India.
Innovative Dairy Systems design and supply new Cheese Equipment and they maintain and upgrade existing cheese making plants worldwide.

Ian Booth is the Company Director and has over 30 years experience in engineering and a vast knowledge of the engineering industry. Tim Arkley worked has worked with Ian for the last 12 years starting with ICS before moving to IDS during its inception. Combined with the expertise of our team of design engineers, our experience makes IDS Ltd the leading choice for design engineering projects throughout New Zealand and the world.

One of Innovative Dairy Systems business strengths is our relationship with respected international dairy equipment suppliers. When it comes to quality, experience, and knowledge within the dairy industry, the partnership between Innovative Dairy Systems and Relco is advantageous to both parties. This partnership means we can offer full turn-key Cheese Plants which include the raw milk reception right through to the packing area. No project too small or too large.
Innovative Conveyor Systems is Ian's original business specializing in the food and beverage equipment sector. Not only do ICS supply conveyors and other equipment in to all areas of the food industry and beyond, they also are IDS's main belting supplier for our CheddarMaster Cheese Machines. Belts are hand assembled inhouse in the Hamilton workshop specifically for our machine.
